NIFLA’s Legal Services: Advancing the Cause and Culture of Life
Thomas Glessner, J.D. founded the National Institute of Family & Life Advocates (NIFLA) in 1993 as a national advocacy group providing legal advice, counsel, and training for America’s pro-life pregnancy centers.
NIFLA was founded when legal and political battles around abortion were beginning to rage across the nation. Today, these battles have intensified.
Hailed by political leaders as the “antidote” to abortion giant Planned Parenthood, pro-life pregnancy centers exist to empower the choice of life–providing free medical care, resources, and support to mothers who have nowhere else to turn.
Sadly, these pro-life centers frequently face hostile legislation and litigation from pro-abortion advocates seeking to restrict and shut down their life-saving work.
NIFLA stands to protect and equip America’s pro-life pregnancy centers so they may make the greatest possible impact in their communities. In addition to unlimited legal advice and counseling, NIFLA also offers monthly tips, training, legal audits and more to each member center.
While working closely with member centers at the local level, NIFLA also combats pro-abortion legislation in America’s courts at the highest levels in the land. Most recently, the fight for life has taken NIFLA to the U.S. Supreme Court to challenge anti-life legislation threatening our members’ ability to serve vulnerable women.
Whether at the state or national level, NIFLA remains committed to advancing the cause and culture of life in every legal battle.
