About NIFLA

NIFLA

The National Institute of Family and Life Advocates (NIFLA) exists to protect life-affirming pregnancy centers that empower abortion-vulnerable women and families to choose life for their unborn children.

By providing legal counsel, education and training, NIFLA helps member centers more effectively reach and serve their communities. NIFLA now represents more than 1,600 pro-life pregnancy centers across the country. Of that number, over 1,200 operate as licensed medical clinics.

Legal

For more than 25 years NIFLA has worked to protect, equip and defend pro-life pregnancy centers so they may better fulfill their mission to save lives. Legal guidelines, best practices and procedures developed by NIFLA have proven effective in protecting member centers from legal pitfalls.

NIFLA has also taken a stand in court against government-compelled speech promoting abortion, fighting to protect pro-life centers from this and other anti-life legislation. Whether at the state or national level, NIFLA remains committed to advancing the cause and culture of life in every legal battle.

Medical

NIFLA recognized the importance of using ultrasound in a pregnancy center setting for reaching abortion-minded women more than two decades ago, and has been pioneering the way in which the pro-life movement uses this important tool ever since. Ultrasound offers a window to the womb which can impact a woman’s decision to choose life by more than 80 percent.

NIFLA has two key programs to support compliance and conversion for pregnancy centers. The Life Choice Project (TLC) offers a step by step conversion program, while NIFLA’s Institute in Limited Obstetric Ultrasound equips medical and management personnel in the legal requirements for operating a medical clinic.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty. From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Because of this unshakable belief in the God of the Holy Bible and His sovereignty over all His creation, we believe and affirm the following:

  • We believe that God is the author and Creator of all life and that all human beings, born and unborn, are made in his image. Thus, we believe and affirm that all human life has inherent value, worth, and dignity.
  • We believe and affirm that life begins at conception, at which time the full genetic blueprint for life is in place and that our expression of love and service to God requires that we work to protect and honor human life in all stages of development.
  • We believe and affirm that God’s calling upon us commands that we make special efforts to protect the most vulnerable among us. Because of this, we further believe that abortion and abortifacient medications are never necessary or appropriate medical care for a mother or her unborn child.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates (NIFLA) – a faith-based non-denominational ministry – is to achieve an abortion-free America and promote the sanctity of all human life, born and unborn, through legal support, counsel, and services to pro-life pregnancy centers. NIFLA shall protect and defend the work of such centers so that mothers considering abortion will always choose life.

VISION STATEMENT

NIFLA envisions a future abortion-free America where a culture of life exists in every community and abortion-alternative services provided by pro-life pregnancy centers are so effective that mothers considering abortion will always choose life.
