With a new measure which aggressively targets pro-life pregnancy centers passing the house vote in the state of Hawaii this week, the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates (NIFLA) president, Thomas Glessner, J.D., has issued the following statement:

“State sponsored anti-life activists are so in love with abortion that they want to suppress the free speech rights of pro-life pregnancy centers in Hawaii and force them to become abortion referral agencies. They cannot tolerate the existence of life-affirming pregnancy centers that give mothers contemplating abortion hope and support as they are empowered to choose life.

If these actions become law in Hawaii they will be fought in federal court in the same manner that we are now fighting the anti-life and anti-pregnancy center laws in California and Illinois. Ultimately, the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) will decide the constitutionality of these laws and NIFLA anticipates victory at that level.”
