During the COVID-19 crisis, NIFLA’s member pregnancy centers found innovative new ways to support mothers and their communities. As America faces the threat of growing unrest, pregnancy centers continue to serve.
Now, NIFLA is excited to announce its new initiative of a national training facility and approval to educate advanced clinical providers. The Life Empowerment Training Center will provide desperately-needed support for pro-life pregnancy centers and medical clinics working to save lives during these challenging times.

Training More Professionals | Saving More Lives
NIFLA’s Institute in Limited Obstetric Ultrasound has been the gold standard in pregnancy center training for decades.
NIFLA’s course is now approved for continuing medical education in obstetric ultrasound for physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners.
For over 20 years, NIFLA has trained healthcare professionals — primarily registered nurses — in providing limited obstetric ultrasound.
This expansion of NIFLA’s programs will provide critical education, support and benefits to medical professionals serving in pro-life pregnancy clinics.
NIFLA has expanded its training program for medical professionals to interpret ultrasound scans.
Recent changes in guidelines from the American Institute in Ultrasound Medicine (AIUM) allow physician assistants in obstetrics and gynecology and women’s health nurse practitioners to perform, interpret and report limited obstetric ultrasound exams.
These additional opportunities will deepen the pool of qualified medical professionals working to save lives in the pro-life pregnancy community.
NIFLA is launching the Life Empowerment Training Center at its national headquarters.
This state-of-the-art ultrasound training facility will offer classroom instruction, along with three ultrasound scanning rooms to equip medical professionals.
Hands-on sonography training and skills assessments will be the focus of the Life Empowerment Training Center. Other educational opportunities will also be available including board training, pro-life leadership meetings and more.
