This is an exciting time for the pro-life movement. The Supreme Court will be determining if it will hear arguments in several cases that will have a major impact on the ability of states to restrict, and even ban, abortion.
On the first day of its session, SCOTUS announced that it will hear argument on the constitutionality of a Louisiana law that requires admitting privileges in a local hospital for any doctor performing abortion. It will also decide whether or not to hear argument on an Indiana law that requires a mother to be given the opportunity to view an ultrasound of her infant in the womb prior to having an abortion.
Other state laws have been passed that are working their way up the federal court system for final review by SCOTUS. Alabama has passed a complete ban on abortion. Nine states have passed “heartbeat” bills, which prohibit abortion after the time a doctor can pick up a heartbeat from the child in the womb. Such a time is around 6 weeks gestational age – a time when most mothers do not know that they are pregnant.
NIFLA’s president was honored to speak at a rally before SCOTUS on October 1 in support of The Moral Outcry, a petition and movement that has collected 250,000 signatures urging SCOTUS to reconsider Roe v. Wade. Thomas Glessner, J. D. was interviewed by various media outlets. His insights on the need to reverse Roe were recently featured on CBN and the 700 Club.
Will SCOTUS take this opportunity to correct the atrocity of 1973 when it ruled in Roe that abortion-on-demand through all nine months of a mother’s pregnancy is a constitutional right? More than 63 million infants in the womb have been killed because of this ruling. Now, the high Court has an opportunity to correct this injustice.
We ask everyone to pray for an end to abortion and to pray for SCOTUS to reverse Roe. Please make this a daily request in your prayer time and challenge your friends and churches to do so as well.
NIFLA continues to train healthcare professionals in limited obstetric ultrasound in the pregnancy center setting so that mothers may see the truth of the human child within them and be empowered to choose life. We have trained nearly 5,000 such medical professionals since 1998.
We at NIFLA also are in constant prayer for the end of Roe and abortion, but our work goes beyond that. We stand in the gap to protect the life-saving work of more than 1,500 pro-life pregnancy centers and medical clinics nationwide. These dedicated nonprofits and medical professionals face constant legislative and political pressure from abortion industry advocates.
We need your support to continue defending and equipping America’s pregnancy centers on the front lines of the fight for life. Will you consider a generous, tax-deductible donation to us at this time?
Please do so by going to nifla.org. Or, you could send a check to our new address:
